Welcome to Is A Wishlist!
So, we've recently settled into our cosy little abode and let me tell you, the excitement is real! We've been brainstorming and daydreaming about all the cool stuff that could make our place feel like home sweet home. We started a wishlist of anything and everything that we wanted for our house, from practical essentials to whimsical touches that we got attracted to from social media and online shops.
When we say we started a wishlist, we really mean we started a wishlist. We used Google Sheets, added photos and links to purchase. We even included statuses to update when someone reserves an item or gifts it to us. We shared the list with our friends and families prior to our housewarming and well, they were impressed by the whole concept of the list.
As we gradually checked items off our list, we realised the beauty of this approach: not only did it save us from getting doubles of stuff we already had, but it also made sure every gift was meaningful and spot-on, avoiding any awkward "uh, thanks, but we already have three of those" moments, and unnecessary clutter.
Eventually, when our friends and family came over and we gave everyone the mandatory house tour, we really enjoyed explaining our thought process and considerations for our purchases. Like why this steamboat machine that goes up and down?! Why this water dispenser that can produce ice too?! Why this airfryer that looks like an oven…?
There’s really a lot of interesting products in the market and we wished we could buy them all. Alas, a 3-room house can only fit so much, but we thought it’d be good to list them all in one place for the next soon-to-be-home-owners or anyone for that matter to consider in their purchases. And so, the idea for this blog was born.
